Welcome to the McIntire Investment Institute
We are a student-run, long/short equity investment organization at the University of Virginia, with over $1,000,000 in assets under management. Founded in 1994 by an endowment from "Tiger Cub" John Griffin of Blue Ridge Capital, we operate as a non-profit under the McIntire Foundation. We employ a fundamental, value-oriented investment strategy.

History
1993
John Griffin, President of Blue Ridge Capital gifts $1,000,000 to the University of Virginia. $575,000 of this money was to be made available for student run investment organizations.
October, 1994
$100,000 was initially made available to students for investment, founding the McIntire Investment Institute.
September, 2000
After years of successful returns, MII receives $200,000 in additional AUM from McIntire.
June, 2018
MII hits a massive milestone as our assets under management surpass $1,000,000 for the first time in our history!
January, 2019
Just months after our fund finally hits $1,000,000, we donated $500,000 back to the McIntire School of Commerce.
